 Upcoming course

Stay tuned for new developments in January 2008!
In the meantime, I am happy to provide one hour free consulting if you are considering a training or professional development program. Contact me here.

I specialize in the design, development, and evaluation of purpose-built training and continuing professional development for museum and gallery educators, docents, tour guides and natural and historical interpreters
. I have developed and taught courses at the university level, for professional associations, and with museums and galleries. See my Teaching List.

I provide specially developed courses tailored to each unique setting. In order to help museum workers reach their full potential, I ...

  • Research good practices in museum education and interpretation
  • Speak about he history and development of informal learning, education and historical/natural interpretation in museums, galleries, and parks
  • Deliver training and professional development programs
  • Carry out training needs assessments
  • Identify and develop training and professional development opportunities for staff and volunteers
  • Help create and build up new programs, both in-person and Web-based, for people of all ages

For more information see my c.v.

Most recently I have begun offering courses in museum education and interpretation directly to individual museum workers. Continuing an affiliation begun with Interpretation Canada in 1995, I have been teaching Modules I and II in the I.C. National Interpretive Skills Training Program. IC is currently (2008) reviewing this certificate program. Contact me directly to discuss interpretive training and development other than the certification program.
